HUDA city center shopping complex to open in September
New-Delhi- After a delay for quite few months, the HUDA city centre shopping complex is all set to open to the public in September.
The project was delayed due to the cancellation of tenders in the past as there were very few suitable bidders.
According to an DMRC (Delhi Metro Rail Corporation) official, the allotment letters for the rental and office space for the complex will be issued by mid-March and in case everything goes smooth, the complex will be operational in September.
The official also stated that they cancelled the earlier tenders as they were unable to find suitable bidders. The ground floor of the complex has been leased out to a private joint venture firm, and the tenders for the retail and the office space of the rest of the floors will be finalized.
The shopping complex has six floors consisting of house retail outlets, rooftop private offices spread across an area of 13,000 sq m and a cafeteria.
The construction of the shopping complex was initiated in November 2006 by the DMRC and the Haryana government through an agreement. HUDA (Haryana Urban Development Authority) provided the land with an area of 30,000-sq m for the construction of the complex and DMRC will take care of all the commercial activities.
As per the official, the retail and the office space will be leased out to the retailers and the private owners for 15 years. The owners will have to pay a required upfront amount of Rs. 3-6 crore on the basis of the area and the floor. Apart from the monthly rental based on the bidders quotes received, the bill will be generated on a quarterly basis.
The Sector 29 has the last HUDA City Centre station in Gurgaon, with the train services available till late night followed by suitable places like private offices, retailers and restaurants.
It is seen that the shopping complex has become the hotspot for commercial units as the DMRC has been receiving a large number of queries concerning the office space demand. With metro near the complex, it is one of the best places to rent. Other facilities like parking and eco-friendly technology have attracted a large number of end-users.
