Huda to improve sewage treatment capacity

Haryana Urban Development Authority (Huda) is set to enhance its sewage treatment capacity from 118 mld to 338 mld (million litres per day) by the end of next year.

Huda sources state that two additional sewage treatment plants (STPs) would be ready for operation by September 2013.

The estimated cost of the two sewage treatment plant would be around Rs. 200 crore and they will be installed at the premises of existing Behrampur and Dhanvapur treatment plants.

Contractors have been told to complete the work by time. Huda also plans to improve sewage treating technology to increase the capacity of the existing two STPs.
