Hundreds rush to the Mantralaya for ‘Rs 54,000 flats’ in plush Powai
Residents across Mumbai, Thane, Navi Mumbai thronged Mantralaya, headquarters of the state government to submit forms that they believed would help them get a house in Powai for a meager Rs 54,000 under a low-cost housing scheme floated by CM Prithviraj Chavan. CMO’s desk section received the forms during the day, and due to immense rush there arose a need to set two more provisional desks to make the whole process smoother. Late evening while, the CMO issued a clarification that no such plan had been approved by the government and supposed forms were spurious. It promised to begin an investigation into the matter.
