According to the demolition-related details shared by the GHMC officials, 19 of the 25 structures demolished by the town planning wing on Wednesday were in areas like AS Rao Nagar, Saidabad, Rajendranagar, Gudimalkapur, Nallagandla, Seethaphalmandi, Yellamma Banda, Amberpet, Lingampally, Makthamahboobpet, and Lalapet.
On Tuesday, the town planning wing had demolished six illegal structures in the city.
In reference to the demolished structures, the officials said that buildings which had ‘Ground + 5’ floors were demolished because they had been constructed without the permission of the GHMC.
About the demolition drive carried out by the GHMC on Tuesday and Wednesday, GHMC Commissioner Somesh Kumar said that, since July 15, nearly 100 calls had been received by the GHMC call centre 040-21111111, about illegal constructions in different parts of Hyderabad.
Kumar said that the GHMC was taking note of those complaints; and it issued and directions to the assistant city planners concerned for verifying the allegations, so that the authorities could take up the demolitions of illegal structures.
