I-T sleuths inspect three Surat realtors
Income tax (I-T) officials from Rajkot, Ahmedabad and Surat, on a key operation, carried out searches at 26 and surveys at 25 premises belonging to three builders in the city on Tuesday.
The officials are inspecting the offices and houses at Varachha, Katargam, Nana and Mota Varachha and project sites at Vyara in Tapi district, of the three builders belonging to Saurashtra.
They are even searching the offices of four chartered accountants, who are known to keep accounts of these developers.
According to a source from I-T, several documents have already been seized and the searches will go on for another 24 hours. The I-T department expects to unearth large amount of unaccounted money from this operation.
