Idco 52,000-crore land scam- Odisha demands explanations

No Comments Sub Category:Realty News Posted On: Jul 02, 2014

Debi Prasad Mishra, the Odisha’s industry minister now demands an explanation from the esteemed Industrial Infrastructural Development Corporation (IDCO), and for good reasons. No one would sit tight and not question the INR 520,000 Cr land scam, not when the industry minister has his eyes on the progress of the report, says sources.

The industrial land mortgage scam of INR 52,000 Cr shook the state badly, and answers were asked by many. CAG or the Comptroller & Auditor General (CAG) of India in a very blatant and blunt manner has also brought out it’s watchdogs to question IDCO on the same, on the very same lines of Debi Prasad Mishra, the industry minister, say sources.

It all began when IDCO had issues NOCs or No Objection Certificates to many industrial homes, allowing the mortgaging of land meant for industrial purposes to happen, with an aim to raise the amount of INR 52000 Cr, and through many banks of repute that too, in the form of loans.

Debi Prasad Mishra has questioned IDCO on the same lines and has asked for a report too. This came about when opposition parties asked the Central Bureau Of Investigation (CBI) to probe further about the land scam of mammoth amounts. Whilst this was being done, various sources across the state and the nation now fear such controversies would make loan acquiring a very complex process.

According to many sources, namely;

  1. The North Odisha Chamber of Commerce & Industries
  2. Odisha Industries Federation
  3. Odisha Assembly of Small & Medium Enterprises
  4. Odisha Young Entrepreneurs Association, all in tandem agree IDCO provided NOCs sans troubles or hassles.

Will the answers for Debi Prasad Mishra come by? We shall wait and watch!
