Illegal Construction-Allotment of 108 Flats cancelled

No Comments Sub Category:Legal,Municipality,Realty News Posted On: Jul 07, 2011

The Noida Authority on Wednesday cancelled the allotment of 108 flats in sector 71 reportedly for carrying out illegal constructions. The RWA of the colony, however, has said that Noida Authority should have stopped the illegal constructions when it was happening under their noses instead of harassing the residents now.

Noida Sector 71 RWA president Shyamu Yadav, however, has alleged that the illegal construction may have been carried out in connivance of Authority officials. Sector 71 Janta flat RWA president Munna Sharma added that the Authority is harassing residents.

The Authority took the extreme step after receiving complaints and finally decided to cancel the lease deed of 42 LIG and 66 Janta flats. A letter was sent to the allotees from the housing department general manager NP Gautam citing that in most of the flats alteration was done on a massive scale. In some cases, the flats had entirely lost their original shapes.

The Authority had identified 108 allotees and had even sent them several notices. When no response was received, the Authority took the stringent action of cancelling the allotment. The Authority now has directed the flats owners to vacate the flats within a stipulated time.

An Authority official said that after several notices, enough time was given to the allotees to give their replies and make necessary changes. “When we found that no one was willing to meet the norms, we decided to take stringent action,” the official said.
