Impact fee rates reduced in Gandhinagar
The state government has decided to reduce the impact fee rates after witnessing a poor response from the owners of the properties of Gandhinagar.
The government also plans to simplify the process to regularize unauthorized constructions under the Act.
The decisions were taken at a high-level meeting between state Urban Development Department officials and municipal commissioners of different cities.
According to sources, the government may reduce the rates by 40 to 50% in the next few days and issue new simplified forms and rules.
In the two months after the Act became operational, government have not received much applications to convert the unauthorized constructions regularized under the new law.
