Improved Connectivity opens up Bangalore suburbs for development
A number of localities in the Bangalore suburbs are opening up and witnessing noteworthy growth; thanks largely to ‘improved connectivity’ resulting from the development projects undertaken by different agencies.
With availability of huge land parcels at low rates having always been one of the key advantage for Bangalore, the recent opening of the city’s suburbs for development is essentially an upshot of the fact that the Karnataka Industrial Areas Development Board (KIADB) started acquiring massive tracts of land in the suburbs.
In addition, to ensure that civic infrastructure further fuels the development of Bangalore suburbs, significant works has been done by the Bangalore Development Authority (BDA), the Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) and the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI).
With development taking off in the Electronic City and Whitefield, the Outer Ring Road (ORR) project was initiated by the BDA so that the commercial hubs could be connected. Since the ORR marked a key link road, traffic travelling towards the outskirts through the already-congested city roads was also channelled.
Seamless connectivity has also benefitted many Bangalore suburb localities around KR Puram, Hennur, Banaswadi, Sarjapur, Hosur Road, HSR Layout, BTM Layout, Kasavanahalli Main Road, Hebbal, and Tumkur Road. The more recent areas reaping the advantage of improved connectivity include localities around Mysore Road and Magadi Road.
