Improvement in Health Infrastructure expected by 2017 according to the State

The State Government has recently come up with a plan to improve the healthcare system in the country within a span of three years. Steps would be taken in order to develop the health infrastructure from the Health Sub-Centre level to the District Headquarters Hospital level.

A large chunk of money has been invested into this project and has been approved after the meeting was conducted under the Chief Secretary Jugal Kishore Mohapatra. PK Mohapatra who is the Healthy and Family Welfare Secretary also gave a synopsis of the issues which deserve proper discussion.

Roopa Mishra, Odisha Director of the National Health Mission gave us a three year perspective plan for the discussion. The Chief Secretary Mohapatra ordered the officials of the respective departments to prepare designs that are green and architectural for all those health institutions who are focusing on recycling and minimal use of energy. The Works Department have also been informed to prepare building designs which include civic, electric and internal sanitation works. This will lead to the quicker establishment of buildings. Once the development procedure is complete, it will be put to use on the spot.

Other projects will also be taken up such as the PHC buildings, Sick Newborn Care Units, New Born Stabilization Units and New Born Care Corner.
