Indore Development Authority likely to crackdown on more plot owners in Scheme no. 54
Shankar Lalwani, the Chairman of Indore Development Authority (IDA), has revealed that the authorities plan to crackdown on 40 more plot owners in Scheme no. 54 behind C-21 Mall.
Revealing that the lease agreement of nearly 40 more plots in Scheme no. 54 will likely be annulled by IDA within two weeks, due to violation of lease agreements, Lalwani said that the owners of the affected plots have been asked to respond within a period of two weeks.
Hinting at a possible crackdown on the nearly 40 plots, Lalwani said that if the owners of these plots fail to come clear about the alleged violations, IDA will take suitable action.
According to the details shared by IDA officials, the violations of lease agreements of 40 more plots in Scheme no. 54 are in reference to a 2004 move by the district administration and Indore Municipal Corporation (IMC) to shift shops from Siyaganj, in an attempt to ease out traffic congestion in the area.
Though IDA had allocated land to a total of 124 tea-traders and 350 grocery shops on AB Road, no trader has thus far shifted shops to the earmarked location. Moreover, in place of these shops, several other commercial units and malls have sprung up on the allotted land; thus marking a gross violation of the rules.
An IDA official said: βIn the month of January, IDA had served notices to traders following which lease deed of 11 plots were cancelled earlier this month.β
