Info from land agencies sought to regularise colonies

No Comments Sub Category:Realty News Posted On: Mar 07, 2014

Agencies like the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI), Forest Department, Delhi Development Authority (DDA) and others must give the details of their land where unauthorised colonies exist, as per a senior Delhi government official.

The government is scheduling to regularise every house in unauthorised colonies, so that it fulfils the criteria of the land owning agencies.

Deccan Herald was told by a senior Delhi government officer, “We have sought details of the Master Plan Delhi 2021 from the DDA to know about any plan of construction of roads around unauthorised colonies. We have to ensure that houses built on the proposed map of the road should not be regularised. Houses around the proposed map will be considered for regularisation.”

The government has sought a map for construction around monuments, from the ASI to guarantee that no houses within the range of 100 metres from the any monument should get a regularisation certificate. He added, “There are 46 monuments preserved by the ASI in Delhi, which are surrounded by unauthorised colonies. The ASI had sent the maps of these to Geospatial Delhi Ltd (GSPDL) for a digital map through satellite. They have found some overlapping in the digital maps and returned it to the GSPDL. Now we have demanded an earliest submission of the maps of these 46 monuments for implementation of regularisation norms.”

For regularisation of illegal colonies from the Forest Department many plans were discussed by the officials. The same issue of overlapping of the boundaries with unauthorised colonies were raised by them.

He further added, “No construction has been allowed on the forest land. We are, however, exploring the possibilities with the forest department to regularize colonies on their land.”
