Infosys to set up SEZ in Indore with Rs 400 crore investment
Infosys laid the foundation stone of its planned SEZ which will be formed with an initial investment of Rs 400 crore.
SEZ which is to be constructed on 130 acres of land, its foundation-laying ceremony is to be held at the Super Corridor on the outskirts of Indore in the presence of Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan.
Infosys founder and Executive Chairman N R Narayana Murthy said on the foundation-laying ceremony, “In the initial phase, we will invest Rs 400 crore in the Indore facility and would create employment opportunities for 5,000 software professionals.”
He added Poverty can be eradicated from the country only when people get jobs which offer good salary.
The Chief Minister was assured by Murthy, on the occasion that his company would make a most modern campus in Indore. The government would give all necessary permissions to the company in a minimum possible time and extend all possible help, as guaranteed by Mr. Chouhan.
130 acre of land has been allotted to Infosys on the Super Corridor at concessional rates by the State government.
Construction will start in 7 lakh sq ft area and the first phase will be completed in next 24 months said by a company release.
Tata Consultancy Services is also setting up its Software Development Centre on 100 acre land at Super Corridor, state government allotted it on a concessional rates. Official sources said The Company would invest Rs 500 crore in the Indore facility.
