Infra major L&T wins new orders worth Rs 2,458 crore across diverse business segments
In a recent statement, infrastructure major Larsen and Toubro (L&T) has revealed that its construction arm has won orders worth Rs 2,458 crore this month. The orders won by the company relate to different business segments.
L&T said in its statement that Rs 1,634 crore worth of orders have been bagged by L&T Construction’s power transmission & distribution business.
Sharing further details about the orders, L&T said that Qatar General Electricity & Water Corporation (KAHRAMAA) has given the company a “major international EPC (engineering, procurement and construction) order.” The order – which has a total value to Rs 1,470 crore – will chiefly involve the supply, construction and commissioning of 6 EHV substations in Qatar.
Meanwhile, about the orders which L&T has received within India, the company said that its buildings & factories business has secured new orders worth Rs 517 crore; with one of the key orders having been given to the company by the West Bengal Housing Infrastructure Development Corporation. The order involves the construction of a convention centre at New Town, Kolkata.
In addition, another order which has been bagged by L&T is for the construction of a mall in Chennai. The order has been given by a reputed client of L&T, and the scope of the order includes civil as well as structural works.
Moreover, the company’s transportation infrastructure business has got an order worth Rs 307 crore, involving the design build and turnkey construction of a 4-lane elevated corridor project in Kolkata.
