IT hub Hyderabad, facing water crisis

Kondapur and its surrounding pockets such as Madhapur, Hi-Tec City and even Gachibowli are inhabited by professionals from the corporate world who reside in the many towering apartments.

The apartments are full of residents migrated from the entire India. Water has been a perennial problem in these parts of town with the situation worsening overt the last couple of years.

All the apartment complexes in Hyderabad depend entirely on private tankers because the bore-wells have dried up completely. These tankers cost Rs 450 each, are bought every alternate day to meet the requirements of residents.

Because of this acute water shortage, the monthly maintenance charges have been increased for all the apartments in Hyderabad. Residents of the apartments are wondering how long they can live there with limited water supply.
