ITC plans to develop luxury resort and spa at Mahabalipuram
ITC, which is Rs 43,000-crore business house, is planning to develop a luxury resort and spa at Mahabalipuram, near Chennai.
According to the web site of company the resort named as ITC Vilasa is expected to open in the middle of this year. The resort is 25 km from the south of Chennai.
As per the web site of company, the resort has 92 luxurious rooms, many of which are sea-facing, 12 exclusive ocean suites, a presidential villa and a dedicated honeymoon suite.
An ITC spokesperson says that the proposed property is expected to boost the ITCs hotel division and will help to develop India’s tourism.
As per the Green Building Information Gateway, a product of US-based nonprofit community US Green Building Council, the property of resort has been registered for LEED certification for design, construction, operation and maintenance of green building in 2013, and the project size is 220,428 sq ft.
