Karnataka all set to streamline land deals using e-governance
The genuineness of the deal, whether all documents are in order, whether the seller is the real owner, if the taxes have been paid and whether there’s sanction/approval from the authority concerned are few of the worries any land buyer has when s/he invests in a land parcel.
The Karnataka government is all set to take away those worries of the land buyers in the state. If you are planning to buy property in the state, now onwards you won’t have to spend sleepless nights worrying about the factors mentioned above.
The state government feels that they have come up with a fool proof agenda to safeguard the interests of the land buyers. Middlemen trying to commit fraud will hit the wall at the sub-registrar’s office. All thanks to the government, which has quietly integrated software of two departments to avoid illegal transactions.
Kaveri (Karnataka Valuation and e-Registration) software of Karnataka Stamps and Registration department has been integrated with ‘ESwathu’ property software. ESwathu is the property software of urban local bodies (ULB) which is attached to the panchayat raj and rural development department.
This will give information to sub-registrars about properties listed in ULBs. As a result, they will be able to verify the property details before initiating the registration process. The state capital Bangalore is known as the IT capital of India and if Karnataka can implement this e-governance, then it will live up to its name.
