Karnataka High Court directed BDA to submit a report on its land acquisitions
The Karnataka High Court on Tuesday directed the Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) to submit a report on its land acquisitions for forming layouts. Justice DV Shylendra Kumar while hearing a batch of petitions pointing out the lapses in acquiring land for Nadaprabhu Kempe Gowda Layout, asked BDA to submit report on its land acquisitions.
The court asked the BDA to submit the report before February 15, when the case would be taken up for further hearing.Justice Kumar directed the BDA to furnish details of the number of layout projects undertaken so far, layouts formed, ongoing development of layouts, financial aspects of the projects, and also the details of the parcels of land allotted to beneficiaries.
The petitioners submitted that there was a well-defined process of notification and de-notification to be followed while acquiring the land, and the government was to leave important places like nurseries, places of worship and hi-tech centres untouched, which it had not done.
