Keys Hotels aggressively stepping up expansion in India
An aggressive expansion in India has been planned by Key Hotels, which is a mid-market brand of New York-based Berggruen Holdings proprietary fund. Key Hotels has been operational in India since 2007; with a significant equity stake in the company being owned by its MD & CEO Sanjay Sethi.
The planned expansion of Key hotels in India is apparently a significant part of the company’s growth strategy in the third biggest economy in Asia.
Under its move to aggressively step up expansion in India Key Hotels has plans underway to increase the number of its hotels in the country from 36 – the current number of Key Hotels in India – to as many as 100, by the year 2018.
Unveiling its plans to unlock a lot of new properties by 2018, Key Hotels took over the management of Ras Resorts in Silvassa a few days back. As a result of that move, the company has added 85 more rooms to its previous inventory of 1,500 rooms in the country.
In connection with its planned expansion in India, the young hospitality company said that it intends using a combination of business models – including the management format – to increase the number of its properties in India to 100 in the next five-year period.
