Kochi residents oppose new industrial projects
Residents of Greater Kochi have opposed the idea of upcoming industrial projects in the areas of Eloor-Edayar and Ambal-amugal.
This is because of the fact that there is less qualitative work done for the improvement in the condition of air, soil and water in the area and the new projects will deteriorate it more.
The residents and activists now want a new moratorium considering the environment.
In 2011, the ministry of environment and forests (MoEF) had uplifted the moratorium which was put in January 2010 based on recommendations of the state Pollution Control Board.
