KPMG to take 7 Lakh Sq. ft. of office space on lease- add 10,000 professionals to its India workforce

Global professional services firm KPMG has plans to take over 7 lakh square feet of office space on lease in Bangalore. This is the largest office space absorption so far in the country’s commercial office space this year. The firm also plans to add about 10,000 professionals to its workforce over the next four years across India which is a good news for the skilled job seekers in India.

KPMG is looking at expanding and consolidating its businesses in Bangalore and this extra office space will be used for that purpose. The commercial real estate sector did not have many takers in the last few years as the MNCs and big conglomerates were not creating jobs and hence the demand for office space showed a declining curve.

RMZ has locked in 7.6 lakh square feet in RMZ Ecoworld for KPMG, which will be taken up in phases. People with direct knowledge of the development stated that in the first phase, KPMG will occupy 4.6 lakh square feet, while the balance 3 lakh square feet will be occupied in the second phase that is yet to be built and will depend on KPMG’s requirement.

This is a good news for the country’s ailing commercial real estate sector at a time when the demands for office spaces were at an all-time low.
