Bangalore sitesEven before getting physical possession of the land from the Bangalore deputy commissioner, the Karnataka Slum development Board (KSDB) has distributed sites to the slum dwellers at Devarabeesanahalli in Bangalore city.

Former MLA sought information from KSDB about the illegal construction on 38 acres and 27 ghuntas of land at survey number 15 and 16 in Devarabeesanahalli, which was supposed to be given back to KSDB for providing shelter to the urban poor.

By the end of 2012, he got the information that KR Puram tahsildar had transferred the land to the KSDB on August. However, due to some reason the land was not physically transferred to the KSDB and it remained with BBMP and the deputy commissioner. The authorities informed that all the illegal work on the said land have been stopped.

MLA is going to lodge FIR at the HAL Police station. However, before the physical transfer of land, KSDB had already issue title deed to around 800 odd beneficiaries. They have got only the photocopies of the title deed with numerous abnormalities.

If sources are to be believed then it was claimed that many beneficiaries have already got properties in Bangalore and are well off financially. Some have five to eight sites on the same land. They claimed that the prevailing price of the property was about Rs 600 crore and some people have illegally grabbed it. The KSDB commissioner said he will look into the distribution of land to the beneficiaries even before its physical transfer to the KSDB.
