Land allocated for two new gas station
The standing committee has approved a proposal suggesting land allocation to the Maharashtra Natural Gas Company, because the number of gas stations are less in compared with the demand for the Compressed Natural Gas.
Baburao Chandere, chairman of standing committee said that one gas station will come up at Katraj with land measuring 750 sq meter and the other one will be near Gultekadi vehicle depot nearly 470 sq meters of land. The civic body will charge Rs 10 lakh for the first land and Rs 9 lakh for the second land.
The PMC will sign a rental agreement with the Maharashtra Natural Gas Company for 30 years and every three months the rent will increase by 12 percent.
Currently the commuters and auto drivers have to spend hours for refueling as there are only 15 supply outlets. Over 4,500 cars and 20,000 auto rickshaw in the city are running on CNG. Now vehicle owners can expect better supply of CNG after two stations have been installed.
