Land from 3 hospitals taken back by JDA
Notices to cancel land shares to other institutes including Bombay Hospital have also been issued as they did not follow the rules.
Allotment of 20,000 square meter land in zone 9 to Trinity Centre for a hospital has been cancelled by JDA as per the records.
JDA has cancelled land allotment of 16,000 square meter plot that was given to Dr Kamal Goyal to construct a hospital in Jhirota village and 18,334 square meter plot that was allotted to International Oncology in Shiroli village similarly.
“The land allotment of these hospitals has been cancelled as terms and conditions were not fulfilled. The plot owners cannot hold the land and the purpose for which it was allotted on concessional rates has to be fulfilled,” said Jaipur Development Commissioner, Shikhar Agarwal.
Another official added, “We have forwarded the file to the state government for final approval.”
The authority had allotted 20 square meter land to the hospital in Ramchandrapura.
Meanwhile, the JDA has also issued a notice to Bombay Hospital mentioning the cancellation of allotment.
During the time of allotment of land on concessional rates, the condition mentioned to the land owners was to construct the building within a time frame said A JDA official said. “Despite several reminders sent earlier, the land owners have not followed the rules. Many institutes have also applied for extension so that no action is taken against them.” However, in these cases, this hasn’t been followed.
This was revealed in a report recently submitted to JDA by the health department.
Other than this, the JDA team is also checking records of private hospitals that are beneficiaries of land on concessional rates and have allegedly failed to abide by the rules and conditions of providing free medicines to 25% BPL patients.
Similarly, 10% beds should be reserved for the poor.
As per a mandatory provision, private hospitals which have been allotted land on concessional rates, have to provide free medicines to 25% BPL patients. Moreover, it is compulsory to fix an hour and provide free medical check ups to poor patients at the outdoor patients department (OPD).
A member of a team said “The list includes a few popular hospitals. A team comprising chief medical health officer, deputy commissioner, tehsildar and assistant engineer are inspecting these hospitals and a report will be submitted to the state government.”
