As per a statement issued by Mr. Krishnamurthy, the AP government is taking efforts in pooling of lands offered by farmers voluntarily. He also added that all the registration officials have been instructed not to stop the land registration including those of the Krishna district.

On Sunday, the Deputy Chief Minister K.E Krishnamurthy stated that the State Government has no intentions of acquiring land forcibly, but will merely try to pool in the resources gathered from farmers who have come forward voluntarily offering their land.

The process of land pooling is expected to be completed by the year 2016.

Proposed Plans:

There exist over 13,000 farmers in the region around Tullur Mandal, the place where the capital region has been proposed. In order to ensure that most farmers part with their land satisfactorily, Mr. Krishnamurthy suggested Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu to not use force or pressurise farmers into giving up the land for the process of land pooling.

The capital which has been proposed by the state government aims to build three inner circles, ring roads and high rise buildings for the accommodation of various offices.

Krishnamurthy has instructed all registration officials including those of Krishna district to accept all files concerning land registration.

Opposition:

Questions have been raised by the opposition parties including the Left as to why 30,000 acres of land is required for building a capital.

Mr. Kishnamurthy who was also asked by the Chief Minister to lead the Cabinet Sub-Committee for the land pooling process refused to do so for not wanting to hurt the intentions of his native place Kurnool.

The Deputy Chief Minister, also in charge of the revenue affairs stated that he didn’t wish to sign every file coming from all departments by leading the cabinet sub-committee.

Progress So far:

A target of Rs.3404 crore for the current fiscal year has been fixed by the department of the Deputy Chief Minister. A progress of 70 per cent has already been made by October. He said the department was undergoing the process of simplification of the land registration procedure which would enable people to make all transactions online.
