Land problem amidst resort and NIO lab
A land row brewing between a central government-run research institute and private hotel project has red-flagged the construction of a national laboratory on a 3.25-acre piece land near the Vizag-Bheemili Beach Road.
Though the land for the under-construction hilltop resort, Bay Park Hotels and Resorts, was leased out for 33 years to private parties, none of the officials of the government departments concerned are able to name the hotel’s owners and seem unaware of the fact that a National Institute of Oceanography’s (NIO) lab is supposed to come up at the foothills.
This has been a grave fault of the government officials in this region. The matter should be immediately brought up to notice and things should be looked into. It has been a major problem for the resort construction which is already in process as well as for the National Institute of Oceanography’s lab which is supposed to come up in this region. The government personnel have yet not been successful in indentifying the hotel owners. Investigations should be carried out and proper details must be looked into in order to sort out this problem.
