Larsen & Turbo has agreed to Metro Progression

Larsen ToubroOn Saturday, the Chairman of Larsen & Turbo, A M Naik, excused chief minister of Telangana, K Chandrasekhar Rao for the problem caused in connection with the disclosure request of its letter written in the month of September to the government intimidating to leave from the Hyderabad Metro Project. The company has also decided to agree to change of the position of the project according to Chandrasekhar Rao’s ideas and suggestions.

In a meeting at the Secretariat, A M Naik informed the CM that his company is not against the new Telangana government. He also added that the L&T is ready to extend a hand of support to them in other projects too. The L&T honcho also that it was very inopportune that his company’s letter created headaches for the government. In a press release released from CM’s office also confirmed that the Naik has given a written apology for the same.

Naik further added that his company will hereby act in accordance with the implications given by KCR in connection with the positioning of the project at few places. His approval came soon after the CM’s statement that there will not be any alternations and compromises on the issues of the change of arrangement.

In the state legislative assembly Chandrasekhar Rao expressed Naik that there were many “sentiments” involved with the Martyrs’ Memorial. He also added that due to the current position of the project, it would be removed as a result for a convenient route. He said that the route can be altered and diverted from behind the assembly building.

Correspondingly, the company is supposed to reposition the line at the Sultan Bazar to secure the historical monuments and market and re-position it from the behind of the Women’s College at Koti. Chandrasekhar also added that the company will talk to the elected representatives from Hyderabad and take mutual decisions that benefit each one of them. Also, the MLA’s and comparators that represent the Old City areas have urged to change the positioning of the current project to safeguard various places of devotion like temples and mosques.

A M Naik’s statements came after Mr. Rao explanation that he thought that the letters were used by “Andhra media” to create problems and doubts over the conclusion of the Metro Rail project when the works were continuing efficiently.

Later on, Mr. V.B. Gadgil, the chief executive and managing director of Larsen & Turbo Metro Rail (Hyderabad Division) Ltd told reporters that the discussions between CM and Naik was undertaken in a very healthy atmosphere.
