Lay of the land- High time it gets fixed

No Comments Sub Category:Realty News Posted On: May 28, 2014

With people chanting the acche din aane wale hai slogans, all hopes are now on the incoming government to make the best of land situations across the nation across rural areas. The Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement (LARR) Act needs to be fixed, says a source and it is ironic that the Bharatiya Janata Party had no form of compunction whatsoever to support the act when UPA brought it in.

Back then, it was the orange brigade which was seen as farmer-friendly, but now with many expectations on their shoulder, BJP needs to make things happen, and to boost projects too. In the past there were many notions doled out by eminent secretaries that went wrong, and LARR thus took a beating. Many say they would look closely at the LARR situation being dealt by the incoming government, which is also a fact on how the country would be ruled too.

Sources opine that large scale changes in LARR wouldn’t be cake walk, because there are rival parties that would portray the incoming government as anti-farmer. The best bet then would be for the incoming government to push for some changes and to have rules moderated, before the final framing for the same is done, and the implementation is further taken on.
