LDA asks builders to get a completion certificate
The Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) has issued a public notice asking the builders to get a Completion Certificate once they complete the projects.
The certificate is important for the builders for it is a proof to the fact that the building is proper for occupancy. Sources say that many builders candidly take completion certificate. In case any builder fails to obtain CC, the authority will take strict action against the builder.
The authority will assess the layout plan, map and the safety measures that are required under the UP urban planning and development act, before issuing completion certificate to the builders.
According to records, over a thousand buildings are yet to get a completion certificate even though they have been occupied by residents unknowingly.
LDA officials have made it mandatory for the new buildings to get the certificate. The authority is also planning to ease out the procedure so that more and more builders will turn up.
