Lemon Tree Hotels Company has no plans to foray into luxury space

In a recent statement, The Lemon Tree Hotels Company has said that it presently does not have any plans to foray into the luxury arena. The company asserted that it intends making efforts to establish itself as one of the strong players in the ‘value for money’ space.

About the plans of The Lemon Tree Hotels Company for the coming decade, Rahul Pandit – the company’s President and Executive Director – said that the key objective of the group is to touch the 40,000-room-mark in the next ten-year period, and to emerge as the country’s largest hotel chain.

To achieve its aim, the hotel chain is currently developing 12 assets on the ground across 8 cities.

Noting international travellers comprise the top line of most of the listed hotel companies in India, Pandit said that The Lemon Tree Hotels Company’s top line is largely focused on “domestic.” To substantiate his statement, Pandit revealed that a whopping 84 percent of The Lemon Tree Hotels Company’s top line is domestic; and added that the group is making efforts to increase the mentioned percentage.

With Pandit having launched a ‘100 per cent money back offer’, which will enable guests to avail themselves of full money back on their stays at Lemon Tree hotels, Vikramjit Singh – the group’s Chief Sales Officer – said: “We need to get higher engagement with our customers and also use customers as sales force. We expect this offer to increase our repeat customer percentage from 32 per cent to 50 per cent.”
