LG plans to change operation for DDA

No Comments Sub Category:Realty News Posted On: Mar 14, 2014

According to information issued by the Delhi LG’s office, the working procedures of DDA will be changed to improve its efficiency.

LG Najeeb Jung recently held a meeting with National Productivity Council (NPC), which is busy in analysis on the structure of DDA, which would recommend changes in the working procedure of DDA. The meeting was headed by LG Najeeb Jung and was attended by the chief secretary, vice chairman of DDA, director general of NPC and other officials of the land owning body.

Statement from the LG’s office says that these changes will be in in accordance with the instructions of the Delhi Master Plan 2012. Sources  define two main reasons behind LG’s decision of changing working procedure of DDA. The first reason is focusing on changing the authority’s role from that of the ‘developer’ to that of a ‘facilitator’ of real estate projects in Delhi and the second reason is to get rid of the inefficiency in dealing with the public at large scale.

DDA official says that DDA is not perceived as a very responsive office while dealing with public complaints against their officers. With the help of emerging ideas such as pooling and transit oriented development (TOD), there is a need for changing DDA’s role. The official also added that the NPC will now study the existing structure of DDA and point out the changes in the structure of DDA.
