The paths of MG road was a jewel lost in Bangalore‘s crown. However now that the project is finally completed Bangaloreans are hoping that the best comes out of it. The Metro works hit the floor in mid of the year 2005 which led to the cutting down of trees in that area midst much hue and cry. The new pathway that is planned promises to be even better equipped with a plaza, walkway, sculpture display, play area, book fair and a seating area.
Party goers in Bangalore are keeping their fingers crossed that the completion of the Metro will finally improve the nightlife in Mahatma Gandhi (MG) road. MG road was known for its nightlife among party goers. But as the Metro work was in progress the sheen of nightlife in MG road has faltered and the revellers seem to have found other spots for partying and the premium pubs and food-joints have relocated to places like Indiranagar and Koramangala.
However experts believe since the Metro work has been completed it will increase the property rates upto 25 percent not to mention that the area is in fact plagued by many problems like inadequate parking space and traffic jams. Some entrepreneurs infact do not want to invest in the area and are checking out other options to their start up. Like Sajit Chacko, owner of Cloud Bar and Tattv who chose to start their enterprise in Lavelle Road instead of MG road. Only time will tell if MG road will get its glory, we definitely hope it does.
