Local ward office to assist you with property tax
The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) will now make sure that if residents face any issues regarding property tax, they can go to their local ward office whenever they receive the property tax bill.
Estimating the particular dilemma that the new capital value based on property tax system can give rise among the citizens, the civic body has decided to modify it to the ward level.
The expenses, that could be calculated retrospectively from 2010, are anticipated to be sent out to citizens by the civic body from December.
We have decided to deploy officers on the infirmary stage to address any complaints that citizens will face within the time period of 90 days while make the payment of their bill. Rajiv Jalota, additional municipal commissioner, said that they are offering special training to staff.
The civic body will be sending out special notice along with the property tax bill which will include all the details related to the property. If any details are missed out or incorrectly mentioned in the records, the citizens can write back to the BMC within 21 days.
As per the central government scheme Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission, all civic bodies are decided to bring in reforms in levying property tax. The civic body is also thinking of modifying the software so that the residents can easily access the property details and other information related to property tax.
