Low water supply hits Chennai
Apartments in Chennai have been witnessing a shortage in water supply in recent times.
Residents are seen complaining over low pressure in drinking water and piped water supply.
Apart from this, Chennai corporation did a survey of 2,503 locations for chlorine levels in water and found 76 places without much level of chlorination.
Mogappair West and East residents were the first to report about the inadequate amount of water supply and Anna Nagar West residents complained of water contamination.
In few of the areas, residents are paying as high as Rs 1300 to get 12 kilolitre of water from private tankers.
Chennai Metrowater has said that they are unable to meet the water demand in the tail-end areas due to constant power fluctuation.
