L&T’s construction business has bagged orders worth Rs. 1,459 crore
The construction business of Larsen and Toubro (L&T) has recently won Rs 1,459-crore worth of orders. The information of the orders won by the L&T construction unit was given to the stock exchanges by the company on Thursday.
In coincidence with the disclosure of the Rs 1,459-crore worth of orders won by L&T’s construction division, the L&T stock was trading at Rs. 1,755 on Thursday morning.
According to the details shared by L&T about the orders won by its construction business, one of the key orders received by the company pertains to the construction of Kannur International Airport in Kerala. The company has received the order for the construction of an integrated terminal as well as an air traffic control tower complex at the airport.
The Kannur International Airport order bagged by L&T is noteworthy order, given the fact that the airport will apparently have a domestic and international terminal of 75,000 sq.m. For handling an estimated peak capacity of 2,000 passengers per hour, the airport will have 48 check-in counters and 32 emigration counters. In addition, there will be 16 escalators at the airport, to facilitate the movement of the passengers.
Other than the Kannur International Airport order, L&T has also won orders from an educational institution in UP; and an order from an automobile manufacturer for constructing a regional stockyard and a spare parts distribution centre in West Bengal.
