Mafias eyeing Yamuna Expressway land
With the development of Yamuna Expressway, the land prices in this area have trebled and is now valued between Rs 25,000 to Rs 30,000 per square yard. Land mafia is now eyeing on the highly priced land along this area.
Recently, the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority commented that mafia began to show interest in colonizing tracts of land and started advertising for sale of flats, villas and farmhouses.
With the allotment of residential plots in the area and construction of housing units, the cost of land has gone up. Added to it, the proposed development along the belt – and connectivity to Delhi and Agra – has made this area a prime real estate. Hence, mafia have begun encroaching upon the land and trapping innocent people by selling them illegal plots at nominal costs, said authority sources.
It is also being noticed that land mafia is giving advertisements for selling their properties through hoardings as well as online.
Although the CEO Rama Raman has publically warned everyone issuing a notice that sale and resale of such developed land and land plots are illegal and if such transactions take place, then legal action will be taken against the colonizers also the encroachments will be destroyed.
According to the master plan of 2031, the Yamuna Expressway Authority will develop the area till Jewar and the area includes 584 sq km of Gautam Budh Nagar and Bulandshahr districts in phase-I.
