Maharashtra government asked to audit slum constructions in Mumbai

The state government of Maharashtra has ordered to audit the 1.27 lakhs constructions developed under the Slum rehabilitation scheme by the private developers.

The entire constructions were made during last 15 years.

The government took the decision as constant complaints are rising from the slums residents.

In the recent CAG report the poor quality of construction work has been highlighted. CAG has pointed out the inability of the authority of maintaining the quality of the quality.

Tata Institute of Science also mentioned that the rehabilitation buildings were not of habitable quality and suffered from bad quality construction.
