No Comments Sub Category:Realty News Posted On: Jul 30, 2014

We thought that developers only cheat hapless citizens. However an FIR has been registered against 14 businessmen and establishments, including KM Goenka, Vinod Goenka and Shahid Balwa, for allegedly cheating and misleading the Maharashtra Government.

The names of the 14 accused who figure in the FIR are Mukund Bhavan Trust, Mukunddas Murlidhar Lohiya (both from Pune), Bansilal Kabra (Nashik), Khushalchand Chandak (Buldhana), Purushottam Lohiya, Ramesh Kabra, Niranjan Hiranandani, (all from Pune), KM Goenka, Hills Side Constructions Ltd, Vinod K Goenka, DB Realty Pvt Ltd, Shahid Balwa (all from Mumbai), Panchasheel Tech Park and Premsagar Hotels Ltd (both from Pune).

“Mukund Bhavan Trust” was misrepresented as a registered public charitable trust in 1989. The FIR which was filed on July 21 alleged that the accused connived to fraudulently claim government land as “soil grant entitlement” in the name of a city-based “Mukund Bhavan Trust”. They also illegally claimed the prime land measuring 326 acres in the Yeravada area of Pune. The trust also extracted various permissions as well as concessions, by misrepresenting it as a registered public charitable trust.

The bad news is that allegedly, this was done to utilise the 79 acres, which is a partial allotment out of 326 acres, for commercial purposes. The Maharashtra government is looking into the entire transaction summary and has directed a complete probe into the matter.
