Maharashtra govt to increase FSI

1 Comment Sub Category:Mumbai,Real estate trends,Residential Real Estate Posted On: Sep 26, 2012

The Maharashtra government has announced that it will soon increase the floor space index (FSI) in the state.

The consideration comes as a way to permit developers to build taller buildings to promote the development of integrated townships around the state’s densely populated cities such as Mumbai and Pune.

The government also sees it as way to promote affordable housing.

Currently, the FSI offered for townships outside the municipal limit is one but by offering higher FSI and putting the responsibility of developing infrastructure such as road connectivity, schools and colleges on the promoter, the government hopes to reduce congestion.
