Malleswaram residents launch composting process
Residents of Malleswaram, Bangalore have shown the way to manage the waste in a neat manner. They have launched a project ‘My Malleswaram’, to dispose of waste scientifically.
The project will be carried out in association with BBMP, where 90 per cent of the wet waste collected from houses and commercial establishments in Malleswaram will be processed at the ward level itself. The project will be completed within a time frame of 35 days.
The residents will use on a state-of-the-art treatment methodology, Pelrich Composorb, an organic composting aid for composting purposes. With the assistance of BBMP, composting units have been identified in different parts of Malleswaram and the programme is being launched on a pilot basis in all wards.
