Mandur villagers vow protest if promise unkept
As per the negotiations between Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) and villagers in Mandur, BBMP officials managed to convince some leaders of villagers in Mandur to allow unlimited number of garbage trucks to dump waste till October 29.
The villagers have urged the civic body to stick to its promise and said that if BBMP sends unlimited number of trucks to the local landfill beyond Monday, they are getting ready to start their protest all over again.
BBMP commissioner Rajneesh Goel and health minister Aravind Limbavali had promised that only 225 lorries will dump garbage after October 30 in the dump fill.
Meanwhile, though the Karnataka State Pollution Control Board (KSPCB) has reportedly given permission to dump waste at Mavallipura, villagers vow not to allow any truck to enter their village.
