Mangalore Water Crisis

In a press meet, the former MLA of Mangalore claimed that the water crisis in Mangalore happened as the government permitted several hydro power project to utilise the river water.

According to the former minister the government should stopped the supply of water to the hydro energy projects in January, so that the residents will get adequate supply of drinking water.

There are almost seven different hydro projects running in the state for the generation of power.

Also after the supply of water from MRPL Dam has been stopped, the water level in the Tumbey Dam has been reduced.

It is also noticed that several apartments in Mangalore are using pressure pump and misusing the water available in the city.
