Measures to make affordable housing possible: discussed in a conference in Vigyan Bhawan
It seems that Modi’s ministry is well synchronised and is working towards the same goal. On Thursday the Chhattisgarh Urban Administration, Housing and Environment Minister Rajesh Munat urged the Central Government to make the land allocation process simple to provide affordable housing to the people.
Munat mentioned in the conference of the Urban Development and Housing Ministers of various States at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi, that his government in Chhattisgarh is committed to provide affordable housing to the people as envisaged by the Central Government.
However he wants the Central government to look into the process of allotting lands for these projects to all the States of the country. Munat mentioned, if land is available at low rates, housing plans get quick approval and they are exempted from taxes. This will make affordable housing possible and the developers too will take a keen interest in such projects. However if there are delays in approval, then the prices go up and eat up the profit margins and the developers suffer in these affordable housing projects.
Urban Development and Housing Minister M Venkaiah Naidu and Urban Development and Housing Ministers from various States were present in the conference and discussed about various ways to make the dream of affordable housing in the country come true.
