Memorandum of Understanding Signed between VTU and Construction Industry Development Council
On Monday at “Jnana Sangama”, Visvesvaraya Technological University of Belgaum signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Construction Industry Development Council. The aim and purpose of this MOU is to create employment opportunities in the state of Karnataka through vocational and professional training.
The document was successfully signed by the Vice Chancellor of VTU (H Maheshappa) and director general of CIDC (P R Swarup). The Construction Industry Development Council was built by the Planning Commission. The government of India is very much keen on building human resources for the Construction Industry for the last two decades.
On one special occasion, H Maheshappa also mentioned that VTU along with CIDC are now working towards establishing a Vocational Training Centre soon. This one has been designed specifically to provide employment and education to the people living in Karnataka. There will be internship opportunities provided to the engineer students as well. Training programmes will also be organized for the government employees who will be working in different departments. Not just that, study materials, skill testing, certification and demonstration will be provided as well so that there is a professional and effective placement cell.
