Merlin floats new commercial project Acropolis in Kolkata
Kolkata-based Merlin group along with Kolkata metropolitan development authority (KMDA) is now developing Acropolis, the Rashbehari-EM bypass connector through a PPP model. The project is expected to redefine the skyline of the city’s burgeoning business district, spread across 6.5 acres, according to developers who are pumping Rs 400 crore into the project.
Sushil Mohta, managing director, Merlin group said “We have always been motivated to incorporate new real estate trends to create world class projects for our consumers. Our focus is to create projects that are designed to maximise cost and space efficiency for our buyers. Environmental friendliness and low maintenance of a project have always been our key focus areas that run parallel to our design ethos. So whether it is about maintaining the ground water table, use of eco-friendly paints, UV guarded double glazed glass in commercial projects, rain water harvesting or smart landscaping, we pay attention to every detail. Acropolis will not be an exception.”
Acropolis will feature hydro- pneumatic system for water distribution through dual feed line, water efficient sanitary fixtures and multi stage water treatment system.
Innovative Design
Mohta said to ensure maximum day light and minimum heat the complex will use double glazed glass and shading, online monitoring to avoid sick building syndrome providing instead a healthier indoor air quality and excellent humidification control system.
“Acropolis boasts of quite a few firsts. Cinepolis, worlds fourth largest and India’s first international cinema exhibitor, will be handling the entertainment part. A premium business club is attached to the premises.
Merlin officials informed this commercial megalith will comprise over 4 lakh sq ft office space, 2.5 lakh sq. ft retail spaces, 15,000 sq ft food court and a car parking area for 750 cars.
