MHADA Lottery 2010 winners still waiting for possession
Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA) had conducted MHADA lottery in 2010 to sell its flats, but the lottery winners haven’t got their flats yet.
It was the third time MHADA conducted the lottery scheme in order to allot flats in Mankhurd-Mandale belt. Since then, around 3000 lottery winners are still waiting to shift in their new houses. They are presently living in rented houses and are facing trouble in managing their expenses.
It was stated by the lottery winners that MHADA is responsible for their suffering and hence it has to pay their rents as compensation.
When MHADA officials were questioned, they said that the houses are ready but the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has not given Occupancy Certificates (OC) to these houses. And also the place lacks in access roads, drinking water and other facilities.
Satis Gavai, the vice-president of MHADA has said that the BMC has agreed to issue OC within a month.
