Mohali IT park attracts very few buyers

No Comments Sub Category:Realty News Posted On: Jun 10, 2014

Since the rapid sale of around 19 industrial plots out of the 80 sites one will find at the Mohali IT Park, the hopes of establishing an IT city by the Greater Mohali Area Development Authority does not seem that positive.

If we go through the current scheme, we will see around 80 plots offered by the GDMA. They are all different in sizes and range between 5 acres to 50 acres. This will be used specifically for IT services, ITES, bio-technology as well as technology based non-polluting research as well as developmental facilities.

Around 42 applicants were received by the GDMA from different companies which includes Infosys as well. December 31st 2013 was also the last day of submitting the application.

27 out of 42 were selected and they were told to submit the money required before the due date. According to sources, since only 19 companies fulfilled with all the norms, the plots were sold to them.

There were sources which also claimed that some of the famous and big companies such as Tech Mahindra have also gone ahead and demanded certain changes in the clause of using land before they can enter.
