More than 2500 affordable homes will be offered in MHADA lottery
More than 2500 people will get their affordable homes in Mumbai. A total of 1.5 lakh people had applied for 867 houses in Mumbai and 1,726 houses in Mira Road. Flat winners will have to pay 3.09% as VAT and 1% as service tax in addition to the cost of the house.
The Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA) conducted the lottery at its office in Bandra.
To avoid any scam-like situation, MHADA had cancelled over 6,000 applications over discrepancies in the details provided in the application.
MHADA lottery 2012 is mainly targeted at low-income group (LIG) and middle income group (MIG) category – only 172 for high income group (HIG).
MHADA is expected to upload the results over website: http://mhada.maharashtra.gov.in/
