MoRTH to provide immediate funds for restoration of damaged NH 52(A)
For the restoration of the badly damaged National Highway 52 (A), which was recently devastated during a flash flood, the Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) has agreed to provide immediate funding. The NH 52(A) connects Itanagar and Banderdewa.
An official release from the MoRTH has revealed that the funds for the restoration of NH 52(A) will be provided at the earliest possible by the MoRTH.
Towards that end, the Chief Engineer (planning) of MoRTH told the state PWD Minister Gojen Gadi – at a meeting in New Delhi on Friday – that the state government should submit the estimated restoration cost for NH 52(A) under Special Repair head, so that the traffic on the highway can be restored on a priority basis, without further delay.
The Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Kiren Rijiju had called the meeting of the MoRTH Officials and Gadi, before discussing the NH 52(A) restoration issue with the Union MoRTH Minister Nitin Gadkari.
At the meeting, the MoRTH officials and Gadi also carried out discussions with regard to the preparation of a detailed project report (DPR) for the four laning of NH 52(A), as well as the immediate submission of modified DPR as per approved alignment.
