MP govt plans to develop Bhopal as world’s most beautiful city
Last week, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan laid the foundation stone of a cable stay bridge in Bhopal; and said that the government plans to develop Bhopal as the most beautiful city in the world.
Chouhan said that an amount of Rs 120 crore, from the Chief Minister’s Infrastructure Fund, has been provided to Bhopal Municipal Corporation, to undertake development works in the city.
Revealing that light metro train will be launched in Bhopal, Chouhan said that the development works which Bhopal Municipal Corporation will undertake will essentially enhance the city’s reputation as the state capital.
Noting that Bhopal Municipal Corporation will work towards removing traffic hurdles in the city, Chouhan said that the all possible help will be extended by the State government for development and beautification of Bhopal.
With regard to the cable stay bridge for which the foundation stone was laid, Chouhan said that the bridge will make a notable enhancement to the beauty of Bhopal’s Pride Upper Lake. The state-of-the-art cable stay bridge, which will be constructed at a cost of Rs 29.47 crore, will serve as a link between Old and New Bhopal City. The 300-meter long and 17-meter wide bridge will be built from Kamla Park to Retghat under JNNURM.
